  1. Summer League v Wired

    Posted on

An interesting game was had last night against Wired.  We again had a good mix of players who rarely get the chance to play together in a “proper” game.   Despite there being only one core shooter amongst us and our play being a little scrappy at times (just one man’s opinion), we came out on top with our first win.  A pretty good result – am banking on a few more of those :) . . .

  2. Summer League v TJs

    Posted on

Everyone put their heart and soul into our game against TJs last night.  Despite the opposing team having players from much higher divisions (well to be honest nearly every opposition is from a higher division), the game was an all round success . . . apart from us loosing!  The mix of both Olveston teams played out really well, with some great moves in both Ds and some jolly good centre court play.  Jane was well pleased with a small token of flowers for her birthday - taking them back to a house which already looked like a florists ;).  We all left on a pretty good high, but really felt for Julie who sustained a knee injury after an awkward landing.  All are hoping she will be back up to full speed soon.

  3. Summer League so far

We’re just over mid way through our round one games now. Despite many players not being available due to other commitments, we’ve pulled together players from both the 1st and 2nd team and managed to play all our matches.  Both Winterbourne and Oasis were very tough games (and it could be said a little one sided), but much effort was made by Olveston and to put it all in perspective, both teams are in far higher divisions!  Lots can be learnt from those games to advance our own.  A close match against Skybound B being the highlight so far, where the playing side deserved a big pat on the back.   Now looking forward to the two remaining games in round one and our seeding in the next section – will be interested to see who we are up against. . .
